Chinese New Year

8/2/2016

This week we celebrated the Chinese new year of the monkey.  The children joined in lots of creative craft activities and worked to make a large dancing dragon.  They also created paper plate  monkeys.  We looked at lots of pictures on the internet of how children celebrate Chinese new year in China, one of the ways is that children are given money in lucky red envelopes, our children received golden chocolate coins in theirs!  The children also cooked some cakes with Mandy and decorated them Chinese style!!
Then as is our tradition at pre-school, the children tucked into noodles, sweet and sour sauce and prawn crackers.
